KANGWONLAND CHARACTERISTICS

Of the 17 total casinos in Korea, 16 of them are for foreigners only with no Koreans allowed. Legal gambling facilities are limited to only horse and bike racing. Due to a special act, Kangwon Land Hotel & Casino is the ONLY casino that accepts Koreans.

01. GOVERNMENT PROJECT

National promotional project for the abandoned mine area district led by Gangwon Province and the national government This is a joint promotional project run by the national government and the provincial office of Gangwon-do. This project involves an abandoned mine area promotional district in accordance with the special law. It is the core project suggested during the planning for the promotion and development of the abandoned mine area.

02. PROJECT RUN BY PUBLIC ORGANIZATION

Secured 51% share in the public area 51% of Kangwon Land Corporation is owned by four regional autonomous governments, Gangwon-do Development Corporation established by the provincial office of Gangwon-do, and Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation under the supervision of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. This gives the casino a government level credit rating while allowing it to practice fair and transparent management in further development projects and business operation.

03. GROWTH POTENTIAL

Kangwon Land, the center of tourism The tourism industry will continue to grow due to the sharp increase in national income, advanced tourist/leisure activities, and more foreign tourists using marine and air transportation to visit Korea. Along with other natural tourist resources and sites currently being planned and developed, Kangwon Land will become one of the main tourist sites in Korea.
